My Client is a leading Contract Manufacturing of electronics, electrical and mechanical contract manufacturing services.They are now looking for a new Purchasing Manager - Mechanical Bias, to Manage the supplier base and to deliver best value in terms of Quality, Delivery and Cost to the company.
Job Role - description
This role will be tasked with contributing to the profitable growth of the company through effective management of procurement. The role will be required to support Group Procurement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
" The purchasing of all materials and services
" Ensure that the appropriate purchasing decisions are made to enable the timely arrival of all material for production and end customer demands.
" Effective negotiation with suppliers to provide the best commercial terms for the company and its customers.
" Provide knowledge of the supply market ensuring that the latest commodity pricing, supply trends and market intelligence is utilised in planning and decision making.
" Respond to market changes enabling the company to anticipate market changes and ensure risk is mitigated. " Constantly evaluate the supplier market and identify new sources of supply.
" Approve new sources of supply to provide with a competitive edge in the market.
" Manage the supplier base ensuring that the highest level of Delivery, Cost and Quality performance are achieved and sustained to a world class level
" Develop the inbound supply chain to ensure that full value add and lowest cost is provided by Purchasing and the Supplier base.
" Provide full purchasing support for new business opportunities
" Develop and improve key processes to world class standards
" Be a major contributor and member of Group Procurement initiatives
" The role may be required to work, for periods, at any of the group company sites.
" Line management of the Purchasing department ensuring the team are fully engaged with their roles and motivated to succeed
Skills Required
The successful individual will possess the following experience and attributes;
" Proven ability in customer service, both internally and externally
" Previous experience in purchasing and supply chain management in a manufacturing environment
" Excellent negotiation skills
" Capable of operating in a culturally diverse global market place
" Ability to interface effectively with a host of internal and external customers and suppliers, with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
" Strong commercial and analytical skills
" Must have previous use of MRP business systems
" Must be an effective and inspirational leader, who is willing to challenge the status quo, lead by example and thrive in a pressurised working environment where change management is essential in taking the business forward.
" CIPS Qualified or equivalent level of qualification.
