Product Manager

SUMMARY
The Product Manager is responsible for both product planning and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and delivery of winning products. It also includes working closely with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
" Proven ability as a Product/Marketing Manager.
" Demonstrated success defining, launching and supporting electrical/electronic products.
" Proven ability within an electrical/electronic manufacturing, reseller or distribution market.
" Product/Marketing diploma or equivalent.
" Bachelors Degree or related equivalent proven ability or equivalent combination of education and proven ability
" Second language in German or French desirable, but not essential.
" Examples and at least one sample of an effective document delivered in the past

The Product Manager will work in all aspects of product management, purchasing, expediting and marketing of our power product lines and power business to our internal and our external customers.

Coordinate costing and quoting activities for the sales force throughout Europe. Primarily working to take the initial customer design/requirement, research and cost components/or finished goods with the goal of providing a finished quote to sales.


EDUCATION/SKILLS (Needed/desired for this Position)

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience/or training in product and/or project management
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English, multi-language preferred


TECHNICAL/MANAGERIAL COMPETENCIES - (Specific Job Proficiencies for application of job-related knowledge, experience and skills.)

" Ability to quickly learn products, processes and technically complex systems
" Intermediate to advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Mastery of our business management software. Experience working with CAD software such as Pro-E or Solid Edge a plus.
" Experience planning, buying and or pricing products with bill of materials

" Excellent written and verbal communication skills, within and outside. Analytical skills to read, interpret and evaluate relevant scientific and technical journals, customer drawings and product specifications.

" Customer service mindset and drive

" Efficient problem solving ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

" Master of organizational and time management skills.

" Ability to form and maintain solid relationships with suppliers, expeditors and customers, both internal and external.

" Multi language skills preferred, but not required

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

" Maintain internal price and delivery module

" Negotiate pricing with suppliers and schedule annual supplier blanket orders

" Set up part numbers and bill of materials in the ASW system

" Provide technical support for internal and external customers

" Buy components, materials, accessories, tooling and outside processing, including orders that may need special handling

" Communicate important supplier information to the GM, such as tooling costs or material issues that may impact our overall business

" Costing and pricing of Value added bill of materials (costing CAS and pricing CAQ)

" Ensures integrity of system information including cost, resale, packaging information, descriptions, labor time, work order process, etc

" Run and maintain engineering backlog report

" Work with suppliers and QC department in regards to the disposition of defective goods

" Maintain no movement and excess inventory relative to corporate targets

" Work with sales with setting up and maintaining special customer contracts

" Maintain customer bonded and special stock programs

" Maintains Proprietary drawings both hard and soft copies.

" Fluent in ASW, especially; work order, sales order, multi-level bom, p&d module

" Manage inventory levels, process stock rotations and returns

" Expedite - both proactive and reactive expedites with our suppliers to provide the best levels of customer service for our external and internal customers
