Java Developer - Basingstoke, Hampshire.
A well know British company with distinctive brand seeks a Java Developer. My client offers good salary, attractive benefits and free parking on-site. Their offices are located near Basingstoke train station, which has excellent links to Southampton, Reading, Clapham Junction and Waterloo.
The purpose of this job is to develop, manage and support a fast paced high traffic website (the site handles 500k quotes and 600k requests for further information per week). The main purpose of my client's website is to drive sales and marketing initiatives relating to their broad products and services. My client is looking for a full lifecycle Java Developer. Your role will be split between 80% new development, with the remaining 20% on ongoing support and calls for change.
My client also requires their development staff to be very client facing with key stakeholders across the business, you will also be expected to project manage and do the required business analysis of future development work. This is an area my client is happy to train new members of staff if they have the required core development and communications skills.
The successful candidate will join the web development team responsible for delivering an award winning website to millions of customers throughout the UK.
To be considered for this Java Developer role, you must have proven Java development knowledge within an e-commerce environment including:
" Java
" Struts
" Spring
" PL/SQL programming skills
" Previous PM and/or Business Analysis skills with a development role would be beneficial but not essential.
" Strong communication skills
" Proven ability working on public facing/high traffic websites.
