Ecologist London £30-36,000 + Benefits
My client is a successful specialist consultancy with offices in London, Sussex and East Anglia.
They have developed a reputation for delivering objective, high quality work to clients in the private, public and voluntary sectors. They operate to the highest professional standards within a non-corporate, friendly and supportive office environment.
You will be involved in all areas of work but the emphasis will be on dealing with protected species issues.
You will be able to manage a small team of ecologists undertaking, amongst other things, protected species surveys and assessments, and ecological Clerk of Works and Watching Brief roles on construction contracts.
Have an appropriate degree in the relevant discipline.
Be a Full Member of the IEEM.
Proven experience in the field and in a similar role in the consultancy or commercial sectors.
Have excellent fieldwork and report writing skills.
Have experience and be proficient in Project Management.
Have a detailed knowledge of protected species legislation.
Have previously managed staff.
Have, ideally, expertise in bat ecology including being in possession of a roost visitor licence.
Have, in addition to the above, expertise in one or more of the following groups/species: herptiles, badgers, dormice, water voles or otters.
Experience in EIA and mitigation methodologies would also be advantageous.
