Description
Our Client is the leading M&E building engineering company who design build and maintain living and working environments. They are looking to take on board a SENIOR ESTIMATOR (M&E)
Location: The location is accessible from London, Essex
Reporting to the Estimating Manager you will need to work unsupervised on estimating from tender stage right through to adjudication. You will assist the estimating manager and the junior team at all stages.
Key Account abilities:
- Ensure that the build up to the tender submission and all supporting documents are maintained in a logical and sequential manner.
- Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the tendering process and specific to particular schemes during tender settlement meetings.
- Responsible for researching and preparing coherent and cost effective bids/tenders.
- Able to negotiate the optimum tender price for suppliers wholesalers and subcontractors.
- Demonstrate an ability for innovation that differentiates from the companies competition.
People:
- Review and appraise employee performance where applicable.
- Provide leadership which is both fair and firm.
- Able to develop working relationships both internally and externally.
- Liaise with project delivery teams and procurement to assess supply chain.
Customer satisfaction/Business development:
- An ability to develop business relationships through networking with existing and potential clients, competitors and suppliers to understand the market competition and future opportunities.
- Interprets drawings and specifications to establish most cost effective solutions on site
- Able to present both internally and externally
- Successfully interprets employer's requirements and prepare contractor's proposals
Technical Skills/Knowledge - M&E background
- Able to query tender documents and gain clarity by the most appropriate method including using request and further information & technology
- Undertake technical/commercial appraisals of supplier and subcontractor quotations
- demonstrate ability to analyse drawing specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare time, product, cost and labour estimates using specialised methodologies
- Qualified to HNC/ONC in an engineering discipline with appropriate experience in a similar role
- Have some understanding of programming and build ability
- Proven track record in successful project award
- IT Competent in spreadsheet and using bespoke estimating
- Knowledge of design & Build estimating
- Able to formulate crew mix & labour rate
- Able to measure drawings and take off quantities
- Varied experience of all types of installation
- Knowledge of standard specifications
