Technical Sales engineer opportunity at leading Automotive company in Coventry. The right Sales Engineer will come from an OEM (original equipment manufacturing) background and join their busy department to support the development and growth of the company. They need an individual who will lead the technical sales process in the pursuit of targeted business opportunities. The engineer will deliver technical sales support leading to targeted order intake for the agreed engineering functions within the product group.

This role sits in between the Sales Team and the Engineering Team. The main aim of the role is to deliver back the time/cost and supplies needed for the project/lead and most importantly, liaising between the two groups. This role isn't a active sales role so the individual is going to need to have a Technical understanding of the Automotive industry and more importantly, the components of vehicles. The are looking for this individual to take a lead off the sales team and liaise with the engineers - talking to the experts to support into a project. This team takes the pressure off the engineers so they don't have to get involved with the sales/project side. The sales leads come from the different product groups across the business - Vehicle/Test Operations/Battery and HGV

This Role is office based and then visiting customer sites in and around the UK.

Role Responsibilities;
" Deliver Order intake to agreed Profit Margin following set sales process.
" To work with overseas subsidiaries on the promotion and winning of programmes
" Lead and co-ordinate the global commercial technical sales activity focussing on the following key areas
" Assist internal efficiency and business development through provision of industry intelligence and competitor information
" Ensure that for all enquiries that the proposal process (lead review through to proposal sign-off) is adopted and that contracts are negotiated in the best interests the company.
" Lead cross-departmental opportunities where has been agreed as the lead department in a Lead Review.
" Work closely with the marketing team to deliver the marketing strategy
" Ensure that the business pipeline is accurate and up to date
" Generate a monthly report for the board on the performance of the responsible product group areas and customers.

Attributes and skills;
" Attribute Engineering (e.g. NVH, R&H, HVAC)
" Vehicle development
" Must have OEM experience
" Work across sector: Defence, passenger car, CV, off-highway
" Work closely with the international offices and co-ordinate responses to enquiries. Be prepared to travel in accordance with needs.
" Work closely with the Function groups to identify areas of under-utilisation and reflect that in sales efforts where necessary
" Act as commercial leader for existing programmes and support any commercial issues within these programmes. (e.g.)
" Project variation requests
" Invoice queries
" Payment plan issues
" Annual pricing negotiations
