Our highly prestigious Automotive client located in the heart of the midlands are currently seeking a Studio Engineer to join them on a 3 month rolling contract basis.

Rate: £27.26 p/h ltd

Objective
The Studio Engineer will work, with the minimum of supervision, on the feasibility of component design & package on all aspects of current and future vehicle platforms.

Responsibilities
Support the Design Team to enable the delivery of both math and physical design properties.
Work directly with Product Development and Supplier engineering teams to establish feasibility of design changes and co-ordinate Digital and physical model data.
Prepare detail drawings & CAD models of proposed design changes to support the Design release process.
Work within the established regime of GPDS when effecting design changes.
Contribute effectively to team technical discussions to ensure that the component engineers understand proposed design changes.
Generation of concept section book.
Supporting the Designers with feasible solutions to design proposals.
Upkeep of the Design feasibility issues list.
Provide technical information and support to senior management for design reviews.
Generate Design Hard point brochures.
Support Design freshening activities, where directed, with revised or new component and system designs & packages to industry standards that achieve defined roadmap targets.
Carry out special projects, as directed by management.
Keep abreast of technical developments within PAG, Ford and the industry, with particular reference to the evolution of C3P I-DEAS and CATIA.
Plan and prioritise own workload.
Provide timing plans to assist in developing the departments release schedules.

Qualifications/Experience
Educated to degree level or equivalent within a design related discipline, with relevant automotive exposure.
EDS I-DEAS CAD proficiency of detailing & packaging within a C3P environment.
An understanding of the design & validation processes for vehicle components & systems.
A working knowledge of component manufacturing tooling requirements & lead times.
Working knowledge of Ramsis ergonomic software.
Working knowledge of ICEM Surf software.
