Our automotive OEM client located in Norfolk are currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Specialist of Powertrain to join them on a full time permanent basis.

Job Summary:
Responsibility for leading the client ICE Powertrain projects and trouble shooting.
Ultimate responsibility for the performance of client Powertrain deliverables in terms of time, quality, cost. Lead contributor to long-term powertrain strategy.
Responsible for achieving commercial and technical objectives.

Achievements to be held accountable for/action required:
Full responsibility in the area of ICE powertrain for the delivery of both 3rd party customer projects and client products.
Ultimate responsibility for performance in terms of time, quality, cost.
Ability to contribute to long-term strategy.
Develop long-term, high-level client and supplier relationships.
Approves internal and commercial projects and directs longer term planning of projects.
Ability to develop appropriate behaviour and culture within teams and will be experienced in making man management decisions concerning recruitment, training and development and pay and promotion decisions.
A track record of delivering to a very high standard large, multi disciplined, complex technical and commercial programmes.
Recognised as having a high profile in industry.
Required to lead the conception and design of high-level research projects.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for achieving commercial and technical objectives
Responsible for budgetary planning and management
Technical support of Powertrain systems within a client and 3rd party projects:
a) Proposal Preparation and plans
b) Design planning
Team Leadership and technical management
Technical sign-off and release of powertrain targets and engine performance metrics
Provision of technical support to the purchasing function in the selection of vendors.

Essential Criteria:
Degree or Doctorate in Engineering or equivalent
Lead and delivered a high performance engine programme.
Specialist knowledge in high performance Gasoline engine design and development.
Good knowledge of powertrain supplier base.
Strong technical authority and the ability to lead a technical team and present solutions to senior management and customers.
Design and development lead for an OEM high performance engine.
Enthusiasm, communication and presentation skills. Planning and organising skills.
Good PC skills and a strong understanding of the Engineering Design development processes applied in modern automotive engineering.

Desirable Criteria:
Managed and implemented simulated lead design and development teams
Ability to represent Lotus internationally to customers
Technical expert role as HVAC and Cooling systems lead engineer at a global automotive OEM
Confident and outgoing personality in leading customer meetings.
