Description
Our highly prestigious automotive client located in the heart of the midlands currently require a Senior Engineer - Body Mechanisms to join them on a 3 month rolling contract basis.
Job Title: Senior Engineer - Body Mechanisms
Location: Warwickshire
Length: 3 month rolling
Rate: £25.00 p/h
The Body Mechanisms Senior Engineer will work, with the minimum of supervision, on the design, develop and deliver body mechanisms components on all client current and future vehicle platforms. Role will focus initially support of small team working on windscreen wiper and wash systems and Satellite Navigation deployment mechanisms. Moving on to other body mechanisms.
Responsibilities for the Body Meechanisms Senior Engineer include:
CAD design and drawings for systems and components
Hands on development of parts in conjunction with development team
Engineering calculations for support of design
Use failure mode avoidance techniques to set targets and plan design
Understanding of kinematics
Work under the direction of Lead Engineer for wipers and Sat Navigation and Principal Engineer
Work with supplier on feasibility of design
Able to take a hands on approach to get things done where necessary
Ability to document design process through DFMEA, 8D and other problem solving tools.
KNOWLEDGE:.
Educated to degree level within an engineering related discipline, with capability as a design engineer or project engineer wiper and wash systems.
Detailed knowledge of design of wiper systems and kinematic systems
Proficient in the use Ideas CAD system and knowledge of TCE. Knowledge of Catia V5 useful but not essential
A working knowledge of component manufacturing, tooling requirements & lead times.
