Description
Our highly prestigious automotive client in the midlands are currently seeking a SDRC Ideas / NX Design engineer with proven capability of Trim & BiW to join them on an initial 12 week contract.
Job Title: SDRC Ideas / NX - Design Engineer BiW & Trim
Location: Midlands
Length: 12 weeks+
Rate: £22 p/h ltd
Job Purpose:
The jobholder will work, with the minimum of supervision, on the realisation of revised component design, package and drawing updates for a diverse range of components across all current vehicle platforms.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
Support the TVM component engineers with revised or new component and system designs & packages to industry standards that resolve their project objectives in a timely & robust manner.
Work with existing CAD resource to plan and prioritise workload.
Work directly with supplier engineering teams to establish feasibility of design changes and co-ordinate model data.
Prepare detail drawings & models of proposed design changes to support the ERN release process.
Work within the specified Product Design regime when effecting design changes.
Contribute effectively to team technical discussions to ensure that the component engineers understand proposed design change shortcomings.
Qualifications & Experience:
I-DEAS CAD proficiency of detailing & packaging within a C3P environment.
Experience with working with Siemens Teamcentre PLM.
Educated to degree level or equivalent within an engineering related discipline
An understanding of the design requirements for a broad range of vehicle components & systems. Specific experience with Interior Trim and Body in White advantageous.
A working knowledge of manufacturing tooling requirements & lead times for a wide range of components and processes.
