Our global automotive OEM client located in Bedfordshire are currently seeking an Electrical Harness Engineer to join them on a rolling 12 month contract basis.
Job Title: Electrical Harness Engineer
Location: Bedfordshire
Length: 12 months +
Rate: £26ltd + £39 for over time for hours worked over 39
Mission and Main Objectives
Development of vehicle harnesses and other electrical components to client design/test standards.
Managing Tier 1 suppliers to deliver products to QCT. (Quality, Cost, Timing)
Managing in house and supplier validation of components
Countermeasure determination with Test groups.
Status reporting to management
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
experience working in an OEM for harness development. Including completing a minimum of one vehicle development.
Understand electrical theory and the operation of vehicle electrical systems.
Electrical system circuit design knowledge.
Harness layout knowledge.
Application knowledge (design & issue of parts within OEM release/BOM system to meet vehicle specifications).
Additional Tasks and responsibilities (include team management, if any)
Strong project management skills.
Have good communication skills.
Be able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions could be longer.
Competent with PC applications. MS office
Self motivating and self managing. Pro-active. Positive. Energetic personality and flexible regarding working practice and working hours.
Background & Knowledge of 3D CAD tools
Familiarity with client electrical architecture or other similar automotive architecture
Knowledge of harness, plastic part & metal bracket manufacture to manage Tier 1 supplier.
Minimum Education Required Bachelors Degree or equivalent
