Our Automotive client based in the West Midlands is looking to recruit 2 x CAE project Leaders.
Job Title - CAE Project Leader
Location - West Midlands
Length - 3 months rolling
Rate - Upto £34.00 p/h ltd
The Company
With ambitious plans to grow in the global automotive market place through the development of world class products, a CAE project leader is sought for the UK research and Development Centre.
The Role
Support the CAE Principal Engineer in the development of budgets, timing plans and activity plans to ensure robust delivery of performance through CAE simulation
Manage the day-to-day running of the CAE activities required to develop a vehicle project from concept to engineering sign-off
Manage a team of CAE engineers on a project, comprising of onsite contracts, and/or offsite 3rd party suppliers and/or CAE engineers in China.
Provide a focal point for the engineering team to liaise with regarding all simulation of target loadcases for a particular project
Support the development of best practice for the company CAE department, including documentation of processes
Support any techniques development activities that may be identified to improve the confidence levels in FE model prediction
The Person
A proven performer, looking for the next challenge, who is self-motivated, organised & flexible. The CAE Project Leader will be culturally aware, & possess the gravitas to build credibility and relationships with both internal and external customers.
The CAE Project Leader should also process the following attributes:
Must have experience of leading / managing a team, as well as possessing the necessary skills to conduct "hands-on" FE analysis
Ability be able to demonstrate experience of working on CAE projects in support of at least 2 full vehicle development programmes, with advanced concept CAE being particularly useful
Possess the necessary organisational skills to identify, keep track of, rectify and report all issues across all analysis disciplines for a particular project
Ability to think conceptually, whilst being aware of the more detailed implications
Ability to devise commercially focused, applicable proposals based on an understanding of any manufacturing / assembly processes / constraints
Should ideally have experience of the following CAE software:
Altair Hyperworks
LS-Dyna (for crash and non-linear abuse loadcases
MSC Nastran / Altair Optistruct for linear static and modal analysis
MSC Fatigue
PRIMER, T/HIS, D3PLOT, Animator3/4
Microsoft Office
Should ideally have experience of using CAE as a concept development tool (not necessarily reliant on CAD) as well as on more detailed explicit models
