Our client based in Central London develops and supplies elegant wind turbines.

We are looking to recruit a Mechanical CAD Design Engineer.

2. PURPOSE OF THE JOB
An experienced CAD Design Engineer is needed to provide design support and maintain and develop the design integrity of products within a multi-disciplinary Engineering team. Reporting into the Chief Engineer, this role will involve:

" Providing design support at all stages of the design process from initial requirements, concept and proposal preparation, through detail design to manufacture and support thereafter on existing and future components
" Providing a support and quality check function in the release of parts

3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. To play a key role in the design of the next generation of turbine
2. To maintain quality in supplied parts through consistent and high quality design
3. To be responsible for CAD configuration control, correctness and accuracy
4. Ensuring all outputs from CAD are correct to the project requirements as stated by the core team (generally the Principal Engineer)
5. Checking and approval of CAD packages and drawings in accordance with Engineering Release procedures.

7. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. Engineering Degree holder (preferable)
2. Excellent working knowledge and experience of CATIA V5
3. Familiarity with quality control and ensuring consistent part quality in production
4. An awareness of renewable energy technologies and the energy industry as a whole
5. Experience of working within an OEM or engineering consultancy in a product development design role
6. Experience of taking parts from concept through into full volume production and support thereafter
7. Experience of liaising effectively with both technical staff and suppliers
8. Participation in FMEA's and structured problem solving teams
9. Working knowledge of SmarTeam or similar PDM system knowledge desirable
10. Composite tooling experience desirable
11. Machined, cast and forged component and tooling design desirable
12. Must be confident in their Technical expertise and able to communicate effectively
13. Able to work on own initiative, without supervision

Candidates may be working within the "small wind" sector at the moment or be able to transfer design skills from the following backgrounds:
" Automotive
" Large Wind
" Oil & Gas
" Rail
" Aerospace
" Marine Renewables or boat design
