Description
Stress/FEA Structural Engineer Location:Hamble Salary: £40-45k
This is a permament opportunity for a proven stress engineer to work as part of a team, often deployed to a multidisciplinary project that ensures structural integrity of an airframe product.
You will be responsible for performing static stress calculations to assess design solutions for a whole range of tasks ranging from concept design through to detailed design drawings.
Role:
Perform fatigue and damage tolerance analysis when required to ensure product structural integrity.
Liaise with other functions and projects to ensure all stress requirements (including certification, strength, stiffness, durability, maintainability and reliability) are fully defined and integrated for any task undertaken.
Assist in the Structural design process to help ensure optimised design quality.
Report critical technical issues up through functional management.
When instructed, support on-going continuous improvement initiatives.
Technically liaise with new participants, supply base and other sub-contract organisations and individuals. Preparation of qualification and test plans.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Proven Knowledge of working as an aircraft stress engineer involved in the analysis of aircraft structures using a range of standard hand and computer methods.
An ability to carry out analysis on new and existing projects using traditional and finite element methods utilising PATRAN and NASTRAN.
The ability to assess structural problems under pressure and to work with other team members.
An ability to confidently undertake aircraft stress calculations, and produce clear, concise reports and other documentation, of appropriate quality.
Desired Characteristics:
Preferably an Aeronautical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent however significant ability in lieu of qualifications will be taken into consideration.
