Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Staffordshire Salary: Upto £33k
My client is a group of specialist businesses designing, manufacturing and supporting electronic and electromechanical products and sub systems for the international defence, transit and aerospace markets. They have invested heavily in state of the art facilities, and have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Key requirements will include:
" Delivering optimum mechanical engineering solutions from bid to delivery.
" Taking responsibility for overall product design or for a sub-module in a larger project.
" Planning and conducting own development and engineering tasks to meet agreed project objectives.
" Working closely with other senior team-members, co-ordination of the overall mechanical design.
Candidate requirements:
" An honours degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
" An enthusiastic and hands-on approach to design and development.
" Relevant ability in the design of mechanical assemblies and electrical/electromechanical equipment.
" Good working knowledge of the successful application of 3D mechanical design tools in a naval marine environment would be a significant advantage.
" Hands on design using Solidworks and/or Pro/Engineer
" FEA and CFD knowledge would be an advantage.
" Working knowledge of safety and environmental legislation is essential
