PSE Tooling Engineer Stevenage 6 Months Contrat Up to £22ph LTD
My client is a global space industry leader, with world-class expertise and extensive prime contractor experience across all sectors of the space business
Prime responsibility will be to calibrate / set large static assembly tooling (i.e. large jigs) used to produce flight hardware. On occasion flight hardware will require measurements taken, the predominant measuring system utilised is the Leica Laser Tracker. Provide support to PSE Engineers with respect to manufacturing tooling/Ground Support Equipment design in line with laser tracking.
You will be responsible for achieving the build/delivery of equipments in set time frames and in accordance with Quality, Cost & Delivery.
Interface with customer and sub-contractors.
May be required to work occasional weekends.
Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: Leica Laser tracker Level 3 advanced certificate.
Desirable: HNC in Mechanical Engineering with an Aerospace background.
Previous Experience
Essential: Calibration/alignment of large static assembly jigs, tool making apprenticeship/experience within the aerospace or automotive industry. Must have a hands on approach which will enable rectification of errors found or to set flight hardware when required. Previous experience with Leica Laser Tracker. Working experience of Metrolog or PC-DMIS software if preferred (used with Leica Laser Tracker). However experience with AXYS will be considered.
Desirable: Experience with Aerospace tooling design and manufacture. An understanding of Catia V4 or V5 for 2D/3D drafting/modeling.
