With bases in the South, South West and the Midlands they are looking for a highly skilled 'SAFETY ENGINEER' who has worked within rail but anyone who has knowledge within the above area's aswell would be ideal. They must be highly motivated leaders to support the continued growth of the rail sector.
The candidate must have worked as a safety engineer on projects from start to finish, and not just different aspects within a project.
You will be degree qualified, preferably with Chartered status, and have the ability to develop and mentor other staff. The role requires an individual who can contribute to growing our rail sector and developing our service offerings in this key business area, so excellent customer-facing skills will be necessary. Our project teams are built from technical specialists within the company, so you should be able to show evidence of influencing and team building abilities.
Successful candidate should have:
An understanding of Rail Industry Safety Management System's e.g. Yellow Book
Experienced of Notified Body and ISA approval processes
A track record of establishing proof of safety in rolling stock and/or infrastructure safety cases
Experience of Safety and risk identification, assessment and control techniques including RAMS, FMECA, FTA, HAZOP, HAZID and QRA
Domain knowledge of both the Main Line and Heavy Metro environments
The candidate must be a thinker and someone who takes their time, someone who has to look at the project from all angles from start to finish.
