This privacy Policy was last updated on 19.5.08

To aid us in the recruitment process, we will collect data such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, personal service company details, unique personal identifiers, financial information such as bank account details and work and education history, plus your nationality, which we are required to collect by law.

We also obtain information about you when we take up references from past employers/clients. As an employment bureau and member of the REC (www.rec.uk.com) and ATSCo (http://www.atsco.org), we are required to take up professional references on you.

We may undertake credit references, and other lawful checks, where requested to do so by a client organisation.

We may store and record any telephone calls you have with our staff for record keeping and quality control purposes.

We need your help to ensure that the data we hold is as accurate and up-to-date as possible. To achieve this we ask you to update your profile regularly and at a minimum every six months. Although we will endeavour to keep in regular contact throughout the recruitment process, and will contact you at least once every six months, we are reliant on you to supply us with a factually accurate and complete picture of you and your requirements.

Any sensitive data on candidates is only collected when necessary, and the collection and handling of this data conforms to legal requirements, such as equal opportunities laws and the Data Protection Act.

On registering with ARM, you will be asked to explicitly give your consent to agree to the collection and processing of sensitive personal data supplied by you. Please note that throughout the recruitment process, no information will be passed on to any client or any other third party without your prior consent. ARM will also gain your consent to contact you in accordance with the Privacy and Communications Policy 2003.

Only qualified ARM staff will have access to your data, and only in as much detail as is necessary for them to provide a recruitment service to you.

You have a right to request a copy of the information held by us about you in our records, and to correct any inaccuracies in the information.

We also collect information to monitor overall website usage. These figures, however, will not contain any personal information, and are for statistical analysis only - recording IP addresses and producing server logs – in order to monitor the volume of traffic the site receives and to measure the number of visitors. We do not use the information for tracking the activities of specific visitors to the site.

At ARM we endeavour to ensure that your data is secure, although data is not currently transmitted by methods that meet the high security SSL standard. However, we do make use of both a firewall and an IP router configuration to ensure that your data is secure. We have taken all commercially reasonable steps to protect your data, but you should be aware there is a risk of insecure transmissions when using the Internet.
