Infrastructure & Built Env: Build up! - a positive take on the Built Environment industry
Surely it's not my rose tinted specs that are deluding me to
think that the build sector is busy? I have listened to the cynics
and the scaremongers, but my opinion is resolute and concrete
(ahem) - there are tons of new infrastructure and built environment
projects still appearing every day!
Yes, it's my job to look for what's happening as opposed to
what's not happening, so maybe I’m predisposed to be positive, but
is all the moaning necessary?
My team works with a majority of the top 20 consultants and
contractors in the
built environment. We have an extensive network and are on all
the best news feeds - and you know what? There's a conveyor belt of
planning, design and build going on out there.
Generally there is, and has always been, varying opinion about
what's busy in build and what's dead. It's dictated by sector and
region.
But it's a nomadic industry - people move around to chase work
and win work - and it’s an agile industry, so we need to look at
the positives, talk the industry up, and go out there and get
it!
