IT Security news: Storage Software Soars
The IDC's latest storage software survey shows a 3.3 point
increase in revenues during the second quarter of 2010.
The IDC observes that this growth has been fuelled by growth
from the big vendors (EMC up 13.3% year on year, IBM up 10.6% and
NetApp up 6%). Interestingly Software Storage and Security firm
Symantec dropped further behind leaders EMS, seeing a second
quarter fall of £23m year on year to £317m. Symantec's market
shares dropped to 16.5% compared with EMC's dominant 24.4%
according to the IDC report.
