IT Comms news: Are You Connected?
According to a recent study by the UMTS Forum there will be 1
billion consumer electronic devices connected to mobile broadband
networks world wide by 2016. The study concluded that whist
the market for connected devices is still in its infancy CE device
connectivity will outstrip overall market growth over the next five
years.
The current trend has been set by the huge range of devices
currently available including e-book readers, sat-navs and tablets.
CE devices are not yet the largest driver for mobile broadband:
that’s still home devices using wifi and other similar technology.
The further introduction of new network technology such as LTE can
only serve to fuel the growth of CE devices.
