IT Telecoms news: iPhone 5 Rumoured to include Near Field Communications
I recently blogged about contactless payment, or mobile wallets,
being implemented for the 2012
Olympics and no matter what you think about them, rumours
abound that those clever chaps at Apple are putting Near Field
Communications (NFC) technology on the iPhone 5.
NFC wouldn't just be used for contactless payments, or providing
a mobile wallet (an odd term, aren't all wallets mobile!?), they
could also be used to allow transfer data between Mac computers and
their iPhones.

So, does this sound the death knell for laptops? No, come on,
the iPad hasn't done that yet so how can NFC on Smart Phones do it?
All this does is make your iPhone 5 a (hopefully) secure mobile
storage device with your passwords, bookmarks, payment channels on
it.
I've recently got my iPhone 4, loving it; all this noise about
poor signal and call-dropouts I can honestly say I have no
experience of. My old 3GS used to lose signal for about 2 miles of
my 16 mile commute home, the iPhone 4 retains the signal in that
black spot like a good 'un! I know there are probably better
devices out there, but I like the continuity and I love the fact
all my music, photos, contacts and emails are on one device.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
