iGaming: Is the Smartphone market the next big frontier?
Gaming industry moguls must be licking their chops at the sheer
numbers we have to invoke to even talk about the Smartphone market
these days. As vertigo-inducing stats go, how about the projection
of 100 million Smartphones in use by the end of 2011? Mouthwatering
if you’re in the business of mobile-friendly eLeisure.

You can’t blame the Gaming industry for hoping the Smartphone
market is the next big frontier.
Smartphones are now being built with over 1GHz of processing
ability allowing much more complex and realistic games to be
developed.
With Flash fast becoming the chosen way to design games, the
consumer now has the freedom to play games at will rather than
downloading each and every one.
With Android and Apple having the largest market shares of
Mobile Operating Systems, it has been the accessibility and
usability of their App stores that has been the driving force in
the mobile revolution. This has made it an incredible area for
possible growth in the online gaming industry.
Demographics that were previously a distant reach are now
embracing online gaming. It’s easy enough to imagine why some
people who shied away from betting shops can now gamble
inconspicuously and happily, and how gamblers have more freedom to
indulge their hobby as they choose whilst on the go in today’s
hectic life.
It is not a question of how gaming operators are going to
produce games for Smartphones, but a question of when.
