Previously it has been relatively easy for online gaming companies to acquire new customers, mainly through affiliated networks and broadcast marketing.

 

 

The strategy to date has concentrated on player acquisition (not player retention) and gaming companies have developed marketing activities to increase player numbers within their player database or CRM system.
