Vai scommensse Italia! Italian iGaming jobs market heats up

Within my career in iGaming marketing recruitment, the Italian markets and the people who work within them have historically been something of limited appeal to many of my operator clients. That was of course, until the 18th of July, when the (very few) fully licensed operators were legally able to offer casino, sports betting, online poker and bingo for the Italian public to enjoy.

The reaction to this change in legislation has clearly been successful due to the amount of operators that have been steadily coming to me to discuss Italian-focused roles on a weekly, if not daily, basis to advertise and recruit for urgently!

Further to my personal recruitment perspective, according to an article I recently read online, gaming companies offering Italian language sites have enjoyed traffic volumes of between three and ten times higher than they historically had done. What's more, market studies have shown that turnover of casino games within the Italian markets will be €4.1 billion whilst cash games within the Italian markets has been approximated to be as high as €6 billion.

With these numbers it can only be said that 2012 will be the year for operators to sink their teeth into the online Italian market with expectations to be around €21 billion. This will be strengthened further if the Italian gaming body, AAMS, allow online slots to be launched in the first quarter of next year with the major foreign operators taking the step to enter (or continuing to in some cases!) this lucrative market.

Mobile gaming sector on track to reach $54 billion global turnover by 2015!

Mobile within the iGaming sector has been a hot topic for some time now and is continuing to filter through to many strategic developments this year across all iGaming territories.

Victor Chandler is the latest company to join the mobile ring after signing a deal with QuickFire to supply online casino games via their mobile platform, giving players access to over 250 games on the move from their smart phones.

Furthermore International Mobile Sportsbook Company has announced this month that they have had over 1 million customers register over the last 24 months, with over 7.4 million bets having been placed within the last 3 months alone!

This has also become an essential skill for many looking for opportunities within the iGaming sector across all verticals including; operations, technology, marketing and business development.

The future for mobile gaming paints a positive picture as player adoption rates increase in parallel to the adoption levels of smart phone devices & new game applications hit the market. The mobile gaming market is well on its way to reaching the $54 billion dollar turnover predicted by 2015!

Steve Jobs - Our World

We recently saw the passing of a visionary and a great businessman. Compared with the likes of Franklin and Einstein, Steve Jobs was one of the greatest innovators of the modern era.

He had a knack for creating products that appealed to both technophiles and the rest of us.

Arguably the greatest product innovator of the modern era, his deceptively simple technology was coveted by early adopters and, crucially, even weaned self-proclaiming luddites onto modern technology.

This made him an iconic success story for entrepreneurial capitalism.

Jobs' iPhone had a big impact on the online gambling industry: it allowed people the ability to web-surf on the move. Online gaming companies followed suit and the rest, as they say, is history.

Over the past two decades product innovations at Apple have created a subset of industries such as APP development and mobile web standards, in turn generating tens of thousands of jobs for techies across the globe.

Steve has left a lasting impact on our world. One can only wonder: what will the future bring, and where will the next game-changing technology, pun intended, come from?
